Shim Rings, also known as Shim Washers, are available in various thickness to align gaps and uneven surfaces. Shim washers look similar to flat washers, but are different in their usage and purpose.

Produced in Japan, these are made to extremely precise tolerances and are free from burrs. We are able to offer shim washers in different materials such as Brass, Carbon Steel (SPCC) and 304 stainless steel.

Use them for screws, axles, bearing faces and machine bases. Depending on the material, thickness variants range from 0.01mm to 1mm. Each package contains 10 pcs of the same thickness in the above given inner diameter and outer diameter sizes.

Shim washers and flat washers are inherently different in their purpose and tolerances. Here are three differences that set shim washers apart from flat washers.

They serve a different purpose in life. While flat washers are used for fastening, load distribution and surface protection, shim washers are used for gap alignment. Flat washers are usually used together with screws, bolts or nuts. While shim washers can be used in the same way, they can be slotted into threaded screws or axles to carry out their job.

Based on DIN125A standard, flat washers are produced with nominal dimensions with no tolerance values given. Our flat washers are supplied with the understanding that the thickness variance will range from 0 to 0.2mm. It has excellent resistance to petroleum application, it is rated good in the Gas impermeability. In addition Nitrile material are one of the best in its compression and abrasion resistance. The only down side of Nitrile have a poor ozone and weather resistance and only moderate resistance to high temperature.

However Nitrile are not a restricting factors in many applications.
