Precision Brand 316 Stainless Steel Shim is made from a soft (annealed) temper material. Type 316 stainless steel has better corrosion resistance to most chemicals, salts, acids, and marine atmospheres due to an addition of 2.0 to 3.0% molybdenum. They are popularly used in environments where sea water is present.

Fabrication characteristics of type 316 are similar to type 302 and type 304. Each shim roll measures 6″ wide by 50″ long. Every shim roll is packaged neatly with a cardboard box for easy transportation and storage.

Type 316 shim is used extensively in chemical and food processing equipment, photographic, pharmaceutical, marine, oil & gas and textile finishing equipment.
